S. Mackintosh Pulsifer Appointed Chief Investment OfficerJanuary 2007
Fiduciary Trust Company International, a leading wealth management firm and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Resources, Inc., today announced the appointment of S. Mackintosh Pulsifer as chief investment officer of the firm. He replaces Jeffrey A. Applegate, who is leaving the firm to pursue other opportunities.
As chief investment officer, Pulsifer is responsible for providing overall investment direction for Fiduciary Trust, leading a team of 27 portfolio managers nationwide who manage more than 1,600 worldwide client relationships. Pulsifer reports to Henry P. Johnson, president and co-chief executive officer, and James C. Goodfellow, chairman and co-chief executive officer, of Fiduciary Trust.
"In his nearly 20 years with Fiduciary Trust, Mackin has demonstrated a unique combination of investment insight and the ability to identify solutions to the often complex needs and objectives of multigenerational families," Johnson said.

Pulsifer, age 61, who joined Fiduciary Trust in 1988, has 34 years of industry experience and has managed portfolios through 10 market cycles. He serves as director or officer of various non-profit organizations focusing on open space conservation, historical preservation and equestrian sports. Pulsifer earned an A.B. from Bowdoin College and an M.B.A. from New York University Graduate School of Business Administration.
